We have a WINNER!

On the 26th February 2017 our very own Charlie Deacon ran the Vitality 2017 Brighton Half Marathon. She finished with a very impressive time of 2hours and 23 minutes!
Charlie has worked as an Account Manager at Cellular Solutions for 5 years, and returned just before Christmas after taking time off to have her gorgeous baby boy. She has now become our Mobile and Fixed line Account Specialist.
Charlie sadly lost her Grandad last year to cancer, and her husbands Step-dad was diagnosed with neck and head Cancers, so the Deacon family were hit hard by the horrible disease all in a very short space of time. The lovely Charlie has been training hard over the last 6 months to run like the wind in aid of Cancer Research UK.
She joined almost 9,000 other runners, including our very own local boy, Brighton DJ Norman Cook – aka Fat Boy Slim – who was the official starter of the race this year. It was also the first time the Brighton Half Marathon included a Wheelchair race. They battled the end of storm Doris as they all ran, walked and rolled to raise funds for their chosen cause.
Here’s what Charlie had to say:
”Race day was an absolutely awesome day. Despite the winds, there was a fabulous crowd out to cheer us on. This year included the first ever wheelchair race on the course and that was remarkable to watch. I was very happy to come under the sub 2hrs 30mins category. I chased the pace maker round the course and overtook them at mile 8 to come in at 2hrs 23mins which, based on my training, I was thrilled about! I have managed to raise just under £900 so far which bought a tear to my eye when I crossed that finish line. Thank you to my sponsors for helping such a great cause”
We at Cellular Solutions want to say a MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to Charlie Deacon and all of the 2017 Brighton Half Marathon participants. You all did marvellously and you’re all WINNERS to us!
Cellular Solutions will be supporting our Charlie in her run to try and eradicate cancer. If you would like to make a donation you can sponsor her here – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Charlie-Deacon2
