Vodafone & Chromecast

Vodafone UK is the first UK network to sell Google’s Chromecast media-streaming device with a great offer that the Smartphone in the heart of the home.

Available through all Vodafone stores across the UK at the RRP of £30.00 all Vodafone Red 4G customers will be able to buy at the discounted price of £25.

With the Vodafone Red 4G package customers are already able to enjoy a variety of entertainment as part of their 4G plan with the choices of Netflix, Spotify or Sky Sports Mobile TV. Chromecast can add to this by allowing customers’ smartphones to become the media hub of the home.

Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device which plugs into the HDMI port on modern TV sets. It’s set up with a simple mobile app and, once connected to a home WiFi network, allows users to share videos, pictures, music and more from a Smartphone, tablet or laptop. Chromecast works with Android and iOS devices, as well as Windows PCs and Macs. Using a smartphone as a remote control, users can also play media from a variety of apps such a BBC iPlayer and Netflix, then, and whilst watching other media, continue to use the phone as normal. All this functionality doesn’t drain battery power however, as all the hard work is being done by the Chromecast.
