O2 zero rates calls and texts for customers stranded in Sharm el-Sheikh

Stating simply “We want to help” O2 has announced that they are making all calls and texts from Sharm el-Sheikh back to the UK zero rated. Effective from the 4th of November until ‘until the stranded customers have been flown home, or the situation changes or develops’.
British tourists have been stranded in the popular Egyptian resort due to a routine UK bound flights being suspended and additional security measures being imposed after the tragic plane crash of the Russian Metrojet flight was thought to have been caused by an explosive device.
For international calling at any time you can always use O2’s app TuGo which allows you to call or send and receive messages over Wi-Fi. To find out more about TuGo click here.
