O2 gives customers a chance to #weartherose and support the England Rugby Team for the World Cup

O2 are giving away 50,000 Official England Rugby shirts worth over £3-million pounds to fans to show the England Rugby Team our support and give them that extra 10% in the match.

Proud sponsors of English rugby for the past 17 years, they know and love the game as much as any ardent fan and so when the opportunity to give the England team that extra edge presented itself O2 have gone all out. Behind their campaign Wear the Rose they aim to provide a demonstrable and most importantly nationally visible boost to the team support, which England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster explains;

"The power of support can be the difference between victory and defeat. We thrive on support; it can provide that extra 10% which in a game of small margins can be so important. It's fantastic O2 are behind the team and are enabling thousands of England fans to wear the shirt and show their support for the team."

Nationwide O2 have been hosting events to promote the team and present fans the opportunity to win shirts through demonstrations of teamwork and support. In August three metre, high washing lines were erected in cities where customers could grab themselves a shirt clean off the line only after working together to overcome obstacles.
Taking up the challenge digitally customers can also enter into a prize draw to win a shirt through the priority moments app, which if successful requires you to post a message of support for the team via social media using the #WearTheRose.

Lastly, O2 have set up a nationwide tour using innovative patent pending technology iBeacon via the Priority app. Customers will be alerted via SMS when and where the Tour will arrive where fans will then open the app and be able to seamlessly tap their phone at each Tour location to claim their shirt.

Ronan Dunne, CEO of O2, comments: "We're calling upon the country to get behind the England Rugby Team, and how better to do that than wear the symbol sewn onto the chest of every England shirt – the red rose. Whether it's by working together to get a shirt fresh off the line or showing your support via social media, we're challenging all of our customers to help make Stuart Lancaster's England Team feel like giants."
