Microsoft have announced that they will be changing their computer keyboard layout for the first time in nearly 3 decades. They will be starting to add a new button to their PCs and Laptops that when pressed will launch their AI, Copilot.
According to a teaser video, it looks like the key will live in the bottom right hand corner of the keyboard, mirroring its older sibling, the Windows launch key on the left. With CES2024 in Las Vegas, USA, happening this month from the 9th to the 12th of January it is expected that new PCs announced at the event are set to include this new Copilot AI launch feature.
We can expect a lot of exciting AI announcements from companies large and small at the Las Vegas Convention Centre next week. By leveraging its deep roots in the PC hardware landscape and partnership with OpenAI, it appears as if Microsoft embedding a dedicated access key in third-party PCs could solidify its dominance in the generative AI market.
