On the 6th October, a sunny autumnal Wednesday, 14 Cellular Solutions employees set off on a 20KM hike across the Sussex countryside!
Across muddy terrain, up hills and down dales, they hiked on in the name of charity.
Robyn, one of the event organisers, said “We had two tricky parts that tested the guys but we all managed to get through. I feel like we all had a fantastic time, and everyone helped keep each other motivated.”
The walkers also found their inspiration and enthusiasm from other sources as Robyn also said “The sun was shining and the cows were out to help us along the way.”
Cellular Solutions pledged to donate £250 per person taking part to 4 nominated charities.
The total was £3500 which was split between:
- British Red Cross – Afghanistan Crisis Appeal
- Chestnut Tree House
- The British Heart Foundation
- The Clock Tower Sanctuary
Over the last 18 months it has been hard for charities such as these. Events that would usually bring in much needed donations have had to be cancelled with the pandemic, and a lot of the charity’s shops have had to close for long periods. We wanted to do something for them now that we can.
So a massive thank you to our intrepid Sussex Downs explorers, who were –
Christina, Nouri, Michelle, Joe, Lydia, Lauren, Kat, Ellie, Megan, Robyn, Jimmy, Isabel, Nicola, Libby
Thanks to Robyn & Jimmy for organising all of this, and an additional thank you to the sunshine and the bovines!
