Cellular Solutions Macmillan coffee morning joins in on the world’s biggest coffee morning
On the 25th of September Cellular Solutions joined in with the world’s biggest coffee morning raising £235.66 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
In amongst the bunting, balloons and streamers colleagues from across the company came and donated various cakes, treats and delights to form a bountiful banquet of goods that took over the entire of the Cellular kitchen. Throughout the day volunteer hosts served coffee and cake to people throughout the business centre packing up goods to take away and manning the exciting games. We raised £117.83 from selling cakes and this donation was kindly matched by Cellular Solutions to make the grand total of £235.66.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Macmillan Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Supports annual flagship fundraiser. It’s the simplest but best of fundraisers, bringing people together over coffee and cake to raise money for people affected by cancer. Starting in 1990 the event has raised over £138 million since its inception with a record breaking £25 million raised in the last year alone.
With 2.5 million people currently living with cancer, the shocking statistic is that one in three of us will face cancer at some point in our lives, which is predicted to rise to almost one in two by 2020, meaning that everyone will be directly affected in some way.
Macmillan work to ensure that no one faces cancer alone, they focus not only on the treatment but the consequences of cancer such as the emotional, financial and societal so that those facing the toughest battle of their lives can concentrate on what’s important, getting better.
