2020 was a tough year for us all, there’s no doubt about that, with the lockdowns and pandemic effecting everyone everywhere. During 2020, UK Charities lost a large percentage of their annual income via fundraising events that could no longer go ahead, and charity shops being closed for most of the year.
For much of the last year a lot of our teams at Cellular Solutions have been working from home, only seeing our colleagues and friends on Teams. So to kick off 2021, we decided to climb mount Everest together (virtually!) and raise some much needed funds for some of our favourite charities!
January 26th 2021 saw us united from a distance and sticking to our lockdown restrictions, 20 keen climbers scaled various steps, stairs and slopes in an effort to collectively reach the height of the world’s tallest mountain (29,029ft)!
And we smashed it!! 32,759 ft ascended and descended between us all. Many at home on our staircases, and some using their daily exercise to trek up local hills, slopes and steps as many times as they could.
Together we have raised £3,511 in donations across the team, with Cellular Solutions matching the first £2,000, giving a current total of £5,511!
Our target was to raise £5000 total across the following main charities;
• MIND
• Chestnut Tree House
• Clocktower Sanctuary
• ActionAid
• Rockinghorse
If you haven’t already, there is still time to contribute whatever you can towards these charities that are making a real difference to the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves.
