Cellular Solutions big charity event update!

Since Wednesday the 7th June the home team has been riding hard on static bikes outside the offices in support of our away team who were travelling to their starting point in preparation for their far steeper ride. The home riders pledged to ride the equivalent distance on the two (very uncomfortable) exercise bikes in a relay style. In between supporting our customers to our usual high standards, our Customer Care Specialists, and their Account Manager colleagues, took turns on these bikes ensuring there were two chums on them at all times. Not as hilly or hot as it will be for our away team, but still quite breezy and the scenery certainly wasn’t as picturesque in a car park! All our home riders have a Justgiving page to motivate them to push through the pain barriers (the seats really were very very uncomfortable!) and have so far raised £1528.47 in personal donations!

Our Home team are – Sharon, Tammy, Charlotte, Sue, Hayley, Lizz, Lauren (Lolli), Danielle, Sian, Kate, Annie, Joe, Vikki, Kat, Debbie, Charlie (Boy)
We also had a good old-fashioned bake sale, which really showcased our staffs hidden culinary talents! This was very popular with customers coming in and out all day, some more than once! We raised a whopping £150.
We had an amazing raffle with prizes kindly donated by family, friends and customers. This raised £1,138 and we had 50 prizes to win. We will be contacting the lucky winners very very soon.
Alongside all this we had two silent auctions running for two amazing bits of sports memorabilia. We had a Brighton and Hove Albion football shirt signed by Solly March, and a Joe Marler rugby shirt signed by the England rugby team, which was Joe’s match shirt from the winning game against Scotland in February 2016. Together these raised over £500.
All the while the home squad had been fancy dressing and fully embracing the fun French-themed fundraising events at the offices.
And if all this wasn’t enough, on top of participating in our office static bike ride, Kat and Vikki will be dedicating their Saturday this weekend to walking 20 miles on the Lewes Monster Trek…… These girls are amazing! And all motivated by getting as much as they can for charity. Good luck guys!

The away team completed their first day cycling on Thursday the 8th June, battling a fair few hills in heat up to 28-30C. 63 miles down, 110 to go. Friday the 9th, at the time of writing this, the away team have been thoroughly soaked by persistent rain, but have managed to get another 23miles done so far. They’ll be riding for the rest of today and for most of Saturday to finish their ride from Poitiers to Bergerac. Keep going guys, you can do this! The away team have raised £6653.30 in personal donations so far, amazing!

Our Away team are – Kelly, Damian, Alex, Dan, Kevin, Steph, Charlie (Girl), Jan, Sean, Christina, Jessica, Daniela. Richard and Jimmy are driving the support vehicle and also doing their own 5km run every day.
Our target is to get to £32,000 for charity this year, and we are so very close! From all our office based charity events, our personal sponsorship, our amazing donations from our wonderful customers and business partners, our total currently stands at £23,383, and if you would like to help us smash our target then there is still time – just hit the link, thank you 😊
