A year on from Lockdown number one
A lot has changed for everyone in the last 12 months, how we live, how we shop, how we entertain ourselves, how we interact with each other, and how we communicate. The thing that has impacted us most as a businesses though, is the way we all work, and how we will work in the future.
We have been very lucky that, being experts in telecommunications, meant we were at an advantage to set up all our employees very quickly so they could work safely at home. This was quick and easy to implement with the Horizon hosted solution we have, instantly switching all calls, to ring directly on our employees’ mobiles with the help of a handy app. We were also in a great position to be able to support our customers set up and use the same technology and have been doing so frequently during the year.
As we all moved through this pandemic, new ways of working started to evolve. Currently we meet our new and existing customers via video conferencing. MS Teams has played a huge role in how we, and many other businesses, keep in touch with their customers. We even had our Christmas party on Teams!
We cannot wait to get back to seeing our customers face to face when possible, but appreciate the world is going to be a very different place post covid.
Other businesses have adapted by changing the way they supply goods and services, like restaurants doing takeaway via a new app they launched, training and consulting companies doing virtual events via a video calling platform and tradesmen giving estimates based on phone images sent to them. All these ways businesses have evolved to survive have been made possible by technology.
A year on, despite it being bumpy for all of us, there is a real positivity about the future with the roll out of the vaccine and numbers dropping. Getting back to normal, though, may look different to what we imagined. A lot of the different ways we now work may well stay. This may now be the new “normal” for many businesses. Whatever happens though one thing is for certain, without the technology that we have now, the last 12 months would have been a lot harder for all of us.
We thank you once again for your continued support, but we also thank you for your friendship and kindness. This last 12 months, though tough for many of us, has also been filled with wonderful stories of resilience, community and compassion.
Stay Safe,
From all at Cellular Solutions
